Privacy statement for the gmoinfo e-mail newsletter


1. The Description of the Specific e-Service

This e-Service is made available on this web page in order to offer an online electronic registration for the gmoinfo e-mail newsletter. While registering your personal data will be collected and further processed for the purpose detailed hereafter under point 2.

By accepting the privacy statement, the applicant will be considered as having given his / her unambiguous consent to the processing of these data in the context of this e-service.

The e-Service and the event is under the responsibility of the Head of the Biotechnology & GMOs Unit - Joint Research Centre (JRC), European Commission, acting as Controller of this processing of personal data.

As the e-Service collects and further processes personal data, Regulation (EC) 45/2001, of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2000 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions and bodies and on the free movement of such data, is applicable.

The personal data collected and further processed are:

The purpose of the processing of personal data for the e-Service is:
- Sending an e-mail newsletter related to the subject of this web site

Your address and e-mail will be used only to send you information about the subject of this web site.

Technical information
Personal data are stored on servers of JRC.


3. Who has access to your information and to whom is it disclosed?

The access to all personal data is only granted through UserId/Password to a defined population of users.

No personal data is transmitted to parties which are outside the recipients and the legal framework mentioned.


4. How do we protect and safeguard your information?

The collected personal data is stored on the servers of JRC, the operations of which underlie the Commission's security decisions and provisions established by the Directorate of Security for this kind of servers and services.

Access to all collected personal data is possible to the above described population with a UserId/Password.


5. How can you verify, modify or delete your information?

To unsubscribe to this e-mail newsletter you should visit again this page, write your e-mail address and press the “Unsubscribe” button.
You will receive soon a message to the e-mail address you specified. Follow the instructions in the message to unsubscribe from the e-mail newsletter.

In case this automatic system doesn’t succeed, or if you want to verify which personal data is stored on your behalf by the responsible controller, have it modified, corrected, erased, deleted or blocked, please write an e-mail message at the following functional mailbox address mentioned hereafter under "Contact Information", by explicitly specifying your request.


6. How long do we keep your data?

Your e-mail is kept in the mail server indefinitely, unless you send a message cancelling your subscription, or unless the e-mail newsletter list will be discontinued.
